Lauren Stewart
DMD
Dr. Lauren Stewart received her Doctorate of Dental Medicine from the Medical College of Georgia. She completed her undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia where she received a BSA in Biological Sciences. While in dental school she participated in several externships in which she provided dental care for medically underserved communities in Atlanta, GA. She was a recipient of the Emile T. Fisher Foundation for Dental Education Scholarship in 2008. She began practicing with McDonough Family Dentistry in January 2010. Lauren is affiliated with the Georgia Dental Association.
Her mission is to provide an optimal level of dental care to her patients while educating them on the connection between oral health and overall well being.
Dr. Stewart has strong ties to the McDonough community in that she attended high school in Henry County and has family and friends that reside in the area. Lauren enjoys spending time with her husband, traveling, cooking and Georgia football.
Bahareh Emadzadeh
DMD
Dr. Bahareh Emadzadeh completed her undergraduate training at University of Houston Clear Lake with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. She received her DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. While at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine she participated in multiple professional and research organizations. To further her clinical knowledge and skills, Dr. Emadzadeh completed a General Practice Residency at the Michael E. DeBakey Veterans Affairs hospital in Houston in conjunction with University of Texas Dental Branch and MD Anderson Oral Oncology department. She received further training in Implantology, Periodontal Surgery, IV Conscious Sedation and Oral Surgery procedures Dr. Emadzadeh was the recipient of William Goldman Excellence in Dentistry Scholarship in 2007 and New Era Dental Society Award of Achievement and Community Service in 2005.
As part of her training, she holds active membership with the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD) with involvement in continuing education classes.
Outside of work Dr. Emadzadeh enjoys traveling, painting & almost all sports, including Tennis and golf. Most importantly, Dr. Emadzadeh enjoys spending time with her family.
Alex Toub
DMD, MSBE
Saving the world one tooth at a time!
An attractive and healthy smile is one of the best qualities an individual can possess, and at McDonough Center for Family Dentistry that is our goal. Dr. Toub strives to provide the most advanced dentistry to his patients while remaining sensitive to their overall health and comfort.
Dr. Toub completed his undergraduate studies with a BA degree from Simon Fraser University in Vancouver Canada. He continued his academic career at the University of Pennsylvania, where he received his Doctor of Medical Dentistry degree. His unique vision of dentistry led him to pursue and complete his Masters of Bioethics at the University of Pennsylvania's school of Medicine.
He followed his training with a General Practice Residency at the University of Nevada School of Medicine, completing his training in advanced dental implantology, cosmetic dentistry, and IV conscious sedation.
His ability to offer sedation dentistry provides his patients with a more peaceful and relaxing experience. Dr. Toub is affiliated with the American Dental Association, Georgia Dental Association, and American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry. Outside of his professional life, Dr. Toub enjoys traveling, tennis, and football. Most importantly, Dr. Toub enjoys spending time with his family.
Frank F. Nia
DMD, MSEd
As an active member of the community Dr. Frank works hard to ensure that his patients receive the best possible dental treatment. The focus of his practice is to provide superior care that is needed in an environment that is comfortable and inviting. He believes in creating a positive experience for every patient to make coping with dental treatment easier.
Dr. Frank completed his undergraduate training at Georgia State University with a BBA in Management. He received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine. While at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine he received a scholarship to the Graduate School of Education where he earned a MSEd in higher education.
As part of his training, he holds active membership with multiple organizations that focus on improving both clinical and care standards. He is actively involved in the community and believes that the connection between a dentist and patient is more about overall health then just healthy teeth.
Outside of work Dr. Frank enjoys almost all sports, including football, tennis, and golf. Most importantly, Dr. Frank enjoys spending time with his wife and family.
Farshid H. Nia, Orthodontist
DMD MSD
With a philosophy of comprehensive care when it comes to Orthodontics Dr. Nia employs the latest techniques to achieve an ideal outcome for his patients. As a clinician who has extensive training in pediatric, general, and cosmetic dentistry he employs these respective disciplines when planning an orthodontic case.
Dr. Nia attained his Doctor of Dental Medicine from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale Florida, where he finished first in his class and achieved membership in the elite OKU society. He continued his training at University of Colorado-School of Dental Medicine, Denver, Colorado, where he received a specialty certificate in Orthodontics. Furthermore, he earned a Master’s in Dentistry participating in extensive research in the field of orthodontics.
Moreover, Dr. Nia has earned other advanced degrees studying abroad in the area of dentistry and the specialty of pediatric dentistry earning both a Doctor of Dental Surgery, and Master’s in Science.
When Dr. Nia is not practicing Dentistry he enjoys spending time with his family, hunting, golf, and losing tennis matches to Dr. Toub.
Abtin Shahriari, Oral maxillofacial surgeon
DMD, MPH
Dr. Abtin Shahriari completed his undergraduate training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia with a Bachelors of Science in Biology. He received his Masters in Public Health from Emory University in Epidemiology and International Health and subsequently worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention for three years. He also was a consultant to the World Health Organization for eradication of the polio virus in Bihar, India. He received his DMD from the University of Pennsylvania with multiple awards for his research and volunteer work in Songea, Tanzania. He received his specialty certification in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Emory University.
Dr. Shahriari has extensive research and academic interests and has presented multiple articles at national and international meetings. He is actively engaged in research projects involving different aspects of maxillofacial surgery.
He speaks three languages (English, Spanish and Persian) and relates that the most important and rewarding part of his work is the care of his patients. He describes his philosophy of patient care as approaching treatment through the perspective of the patient, and emphasizes that physician-patient communication is essential in establishing high quality and superior care for the patients.
Outside of his professional life, Dr. Shahriari enjoys traveling, swimming, and losing ping pong matches to Dr. Toub. Most importantly, Dr. Shahriari enjoys spending time with his family.
Ashley Hill
DMD
Dr. Ashley Hill is a native of Fitzgerald, Georgia where she graduated from Fitzgerald High School. Dr. Hill attended the University of Georgia (Honors Program) and graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelors of Science in Biology in 2006. She was a member of Kappa Delta social sorority where she served on the Executive Board. At the University of Georgia she was inducted into Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, Golden Key Honor Society, Order of Omega Greek Honor Society, Phi Eta Sigma, and Phi Beta Kappa Honor Societies.
Dr. Hill completed her graduate work at the Medical College of Georgia School of Dentistry earning the degree of Doctor of Dental Medicine. At the Medical College of Georgia, Dr. Hill was active in the American Student Dental Association as well as the Medical Campus Outreach Bible Study. Dr. Hill participated in Medical Mission trips to Bulgaria and Trinidad where the team provided dental work for impoverished citizens.
Dr. Hill resides in Atlanta, Georgia. Her professional affiliations include memberships in the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry and the Georgia Dental Association. In her free time Dr. Hill enjoys an active lifestyle, playing with her dog and spending time with friends and family.
Kristy Chandler
DMD
Dr. Kristina Chandler, originally from Snellville, Georgia, graduated from the University of Georgia in 2007 with dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Biology and Genetics. She then attended the Medical College of Georgia's School of Dentistry where she earned her DMD degree in 2011.
While in dental school, Dr. Chandler participated in Oral Surgery and Pediatric externships at the Floyd County Public Health Department in Rome, Georgia as well as a comprehensive dentistry externship at the Ben Massell Dental Clinic in Atlanta. Throughout her four years of dental school, Dr. Chandler was honored with the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Academic Achievement Award recognizing the top 20% of the class. She was also awarded the Emile T. Fisher Foundation Scholarship, the Simon Eisenberg Scholarship, the Affinity Bank Award, and the International Congress of Oral Implantologists Pre-Doctoral Achievement Award. In addition to her academic achievements, Dr. Chandler enjoyed volunteering with the Georgia War Veterans "Dentists for Della" Project and participating in the Medical Campus Outreach Weekly Women's Bible Study.
Dr. Chandler is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Georgia Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. She is committed to providing the best dental care possible to her patients and continues to advance her skills by actively pursuing her continuing education. When not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Chandler enjoys traveling, exercising, and spending time with her family and friends.
Tracie M. Zielinski, Endodontist
DDS
Dr. Zielinski graduated from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry in 2001 and earned a certificate in Endodontics from Oregon Health and Science University in 2007. Following her graduation from dental school, Dr. Zielinski joined the United States Navy and remained on active duty for nine years. In 2003, she deployed with the United States Marine Corps in support of Operation Enduring Freedom/Operation Iraqi Freedom. She is currently a Lieutenant Commander in the United States Navy Reserve and is a private practice Endodontist practicing in Georgia.
Dr. Zielinski is Board Certified in Endodontics and holds memberships in Omicron Kappa Upsilon, the American Association of Endodontists, the American Dental Association, and the Michigan Dental Association.
Dr. Zielinski has presented numerous courses covering Treatment Planning in Endodontics, Endodontic Obturation, and Achiveing Predictable Success in Endodontics. She also has presented original research on the GuttaFlow obturation technique to the American Association of Endodontists.
In her free time, Dr. Zielinski enjoys running, teaching, and spending time with her family.
Marcus Polk, Pediatric Anesthesiologist

Marcus Polk has been practicing medicine for over 15 years serving his patients at the highest level of care. Dr. Polk received his medical degree from Oregon Health Science University where he later joined Emory University to finish his anesthesiology residency followed by a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology at Egleston Children’s Hospital. Utilizing the latest techniques in anesthesiology, Dr. Polk is able to make sure that patients are seen safely and comfortably during dental procedures. With an understanding of dentistry and having treated patients extensively in dental procedures he is aware of the requirements to make sure that patients are comfortable. Anxiety in dentistry is very common but with his expertise you can expect to sleep through your entire treatment in the safest environment.
When Dr. Polk is not practicing medicine he enjoys spending time with his wife and three children. When time allows he enjoys making Dr. Frank Nia look bad on the golf course.
